Mail address aliasing with Astaro 4.x possible?

Hi!

I have a problem with NDR´s sent by our Exchange 2000 Server. Reports for external users are sent to the firewall´s SMTP Proxy which takes care of the delivery of all mails.

The internal postmaster address used by the Exchange Server is postmaster@ourdomain.local but should be postmaster@ourdomain.de. As I still can´t find a solution for changing the postmaster address in Exchange I wonder if it´s possible to substitute it through Exim. Such as: If a mail from 172.25.0.1 with sender´s address postmaster@ourdomain.local is received change address to postmaster@ourdomain.de and deliver the mail to the world wide... web.

Does anybody know how to do that?

    hmm, iicc not possible on the webfrontend but possible on astaro. you must edit the exim.conf-default file on your firewall. search for "rewrite-configuration".

    Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately, changes to configuration files like exim.conf get lost after a restart of the process/firewall....

    As it seems there´s no workaround for this issue - for good reason I think.. [;)]

    Gotta search for a solution on my Exchange Server...

    I think the Exim.conf-default does not get rewritten, however.  When you stop/start the SMTP proxy, it is my understanding that exim.conf is generated by the rules listed in exim.conf-default... may want to look there (per the suggestion in the previous post).

    That´s not the case - I changed things in exim.conf-default which does not get overwritten after a restart, but it´s not used as template for exim.conf.

    @SecApp:
    Today I will change the Exchange Server´s Default Recipient Policy to the correct domain name. That will do the trick I think.

    -default files are definetively used as templates, don't forget tostopand start the proxy within WebAdmin.
