Problem with Port 25 traffic

I seem to have a major problem with my SMTP Proxy.
A few days ago my DNS provider went down and I had to wait 2 days be for service was resored. before this all was running correctly. 
Now that my DNS service is correctly up, I am no longer able to recieve mail traffic via the smtp proxy in astaro 4.17
I have restarted the daemon, the complete sytem, and even tried a backup of when the system was running correctly.
I did an external scan on the firewall only to find that the smtp port is in stealth mode......I believe this was not the case when the system was functioning correctly.

Does anyone have any ideas other that a total re-nstall?

    Well I feel really stupid and I suspected this was the problem...
    I phoned my ISP and found out at the same time my DNS went down my ISP has desided to implement a new policy of blocking all external smtp trafic to the dynamic addresses in there network.

    So thanks all for the excelent input.

    Some companies do SMTP store and foreward for a fee. They can even redirect port traffic for your exact situation.
