POP3 proxy problem

Every now and then when i check my e-mail the pop3 proxy hangs up and hte downloading of e-mials halts on my end..the connect is not broken by ASL to the pop3 server.  The only thing i am using is hte extension filter in which i am filtering com,exe,dll,hlp,vbs,pif,scrk,js extensions.  i have to turn off hte proxy when this happens...since it is random i am thinking it may be one of my mailing list mails messing it up...any ideas?  4.0015 am  awaiting hte 4.016 update..[:)] 

well it jsut happened on another pop3 account of mine in which that list is not subscribed..had to shut off hte pop3 proxy to get my mail....i relaly would like to run it..any ideas?

    what is your pop3 client?
    who disconnects, the client or the proxy?

    if client (you will see a bunch of "exception in io blabla" in /var/log/mail") then increase your timeout setting on  the client side because your client is disconnecting before the mail is downloaded to the proxy. 

    if the proxy disconnects please post a /var/log/mail sniplet.

    I reinstalled ASL and all the updaes..restored the config file and hte problem was solved..[:)]
