my pop config works as follows: win2k srv running exchange [:$]th astaro.
SMTP: win2k sees astaro as smarthost, astaro sees router as smarthost, router sees real SMTP smarthost at ISP as it's next in line. Works instantaneously. magick.
pop3 i had the win2k srv set up check the external POP3 srv at the ISP directly. worked like a charm when i ran ASTARO POP-PROXY. suddenly stopped working.
i suspect that 1 - a SP update broke it? is that possible? any other things breaking on pop with updates?
i suspect that maybe the ISP figured out there's a local (internal) IP calling to get our mail, and they blocked it.
However, if i set up pop3 on an internal workstation, and it connects straight thru http proxy thru the ASTARO box, it finds the server OK, and THERE IS NO MAIL ON THE EXTERNAL POP SERVER.
where did it go?
