Virus scanner error

I get the following error on email: 
[ERR 009] Failed to start Virus Scanner. Please repeat Pattern Up2Date

When I then repeat the Up2Date I get this, in the log window:

Can somone please shed some light on this error. As far as I can see in older posts - see here: https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/51/t/19721

This is a false positive, that should have been solved.
I am running ASL 4.010. 
Why am I getting this error??

    Never found the error. However a reboot seems like it did the job.

    Now my PatternUp2Date log looks like this:

    Fri Aug 22 10:47:58 CEST 2003 

    000 UPDATE_SERVER: 212.126.210.201
    001 Starting update for avp_pattern.
    002 Creating the md5sum hash for avp_pattern.
    003 Connecting to 212.126.210.201 ......Connected!
    007 Getting Pattern_Updates( avp.klb, avp.set, daily.avc, malware.avc, recnum.txt, up030816.avc )!
    008 Pattern install started.
    009 Running install check....OK!
    010 Running install recheck....OK!
    011 Checking Virus Scanner...
    012 :: Stopping kavdaemon
    013 Stopping avsocketmultiplexer
    014 -> failed
    015 :: Starting kavdaemon
    016 Starting avsocketmultiplexer
    017 -> ok
    018 Restarted Virus Scanner!

    Which is good, because, now I am getting the required updates.

    In another post on the board - I found that if the name of the system contains an underscore - like this: my_system.domain.com then it will fail - remove the underscore and the proxy works fine.
