windowsupdate not working

I am using ASL 4 with win2k sp4 IE6 sp1 and all pacthes installed.  I have anon level set to none and have tried transparent and stadard modes...nothing the site dies at scanning for updates and then says no updates available.  Any ideas?

    I guess you have enabled the Active X filtering on the HTTP Proxy configuration.
    You should not be able to delete emails in hotmail web, because of this filter.
    So it is probably the same problem occurs with Windows Update.

    well it kinda fixed itself...I cleared the browser cache and restarted my box...and it fixed it..i then had an issue with the proxy not caching large objects even when told..i fixed that by reinstalling ASL and importing the settings(after changing hte max object size parameter in squid.conf-default)..

    You have to set the http proxy Anonymity to none. Default is standard.

    nod i should have come back and said that is what i did..however at client sites it will be set to max and an sus server will be setup(for those windows shops)..[:)]
