Can not telnet to Port 25 using 4.08. Can anyone ?

Hi,
I keep getting  this error in the smtp logs,
 "configuration error in line 99:
exim[11092]: [2/2]   extra characters follow string value for exiscan_regex_data"

And additionally I can not telnet to port 25. I tried from the inside and from the outside, but to no avail.

Can anyone help  PLEASE?

    Can anyone? Yes I can... Normally I don't use the SMTP Proxy. But for you I switched it on   - Well, all worked fine (incl. telnetting to port 25). Below the result from my telnet session:

    > quit
