Hi,
i suggest to add an option on SMTP Proxy: send an email to a predefined account if an email i blocked by Astaro Antivirus filter or by another Astaro SMTP filter... I think this feature is very useful and is present in many antivirus system..

    Perhaps I don't fully understand the question. The smtp proxy has a Postmaster address field. The receipient gets alerts to any email containing a virus. The email looks like this:

    Subject: [fw.ourcompany.com ] [WAR 030] Virus in mail ID 19VIt2-0000sZ-00

    Time: Thu Jun 26 08:37:16 2003
    ID: 19VIt2-0000sZ-00
    From: 
    To: customerservice@ourcompany.com

    Hi,

     the notification email that is send to the postmaster if a message contains a virus is not send in version 4.X.
    I don't know why, but this feature worked in version 3.X.
    Maybe someone can tell me why this notification message is not sent to the postmaster.

    With a recent upgrade to 4.0, I'm noticing it's absense. I'd like it back, if possible...

    If there is a flooding with eMails containing viruses, like the I LOVE YOU Virus. The administrator would get thousands of emails. So it's better to not get a notification email. You can get that information from the logfiles.

    One possible solution to this might be to send emails like the old "Too much memory for a single process" email where it only sends one email in a certain time period, but also tell you that this has happened x amount of times.  I would also like to get some sort of notification back, but it doesn't have to be a notification for each and every time the firewall finds a virus.  Maybe have the system email once an hour or once a day if it blocked emails with viruses during that period and tell you how many it blocked.
