I installed the 4.001 update last night. I then reenabled the SMTP and POP3 proxies. All appeared to work, but POP3 is showing some issues still. I was using the virus protection, and the file extension filter, but I was not using the expression filter at the time.
Problem 1. Still blocking email with attachments. Except now it forwards a message to user to let them know it was blocked. This is something better anyway. ;-) I have been unable to validate if it is blocking only email with attachments or all email as it was before. I've got the users watching and I'll let you know. The only attachment type that I saw get blocked was a .pdf. I don't know if they received other extensions during the time period. I do not block .pdf in my extension filter. I will be working with the users to determine if they are receiving other extension types.
Problem 2. The only option in the proxy content manager applicable to POP3 email is delete. I can't forward the messages on to the user. I attempted forwarding to the postmaster, but the message appears as an attachment in a form I cannot view or manipulate. This may be due to my own ignorance, but it shows up as an attachement I can't do a thing with. I assumed it would forward the email as it was originally, not as an attachment.
In the meantime, I have disabled the virus protection, as it was hinted in the update that the virus protection was the cause of the issues. I will see what happens. This would be much less user affecting if I could go ahead and dequeue the message. ;-)
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
