What is ViralWolf and why is it taking 96% CPU?

ASL 4.0. I finally got my reporting visuals back, and I am still using 95% CPU. This time it's something called viralwolf? What is it and why is it killing my bandwidth? System is Athlon XP2000+ with 512MB RAM. Firewall up for 10 days loping at 5% utilization until SMTPd issue and now this.

 Note how long its been running 576:01  minutes...

    Well, it turns out that somewhere during my fiddling, I turned my POP3 proxy back on. I just shut it off, and ViralWolf disappeared from my list of processes. I am now back down to 5% utilization. I am still curious about what that process was though... Is there any information on when we can expect these issues fixed? I love the product, but I feel I am turning off all the features I bought it for. Any more and I'll have nothing left but a plain-jane packet filter..     Thanks.

    Hi there, 

    ViralWolf is a modular virus and pattern scanning engine used by the pop3 proxy.
    In version 4.000 we have some problems with some special emails that get scanned by the viralwolf, 
    the next update, available soon, will fix that issue.
