Hi,
using ASL 4.000 with IP 10.1.1.1 as relay.mydomain.com
My DNS-Server is 10.1.1.18 as dns.myintranet.com
The internal DNS is allowed for outgoing DNS requests to ISP via Port 53.
The DNS proxy in ASL first asks dns.myintranet.com and then the ISPs DNS servers.
In PPTP settings i give the client dns.myintranet.com as DNS server.
In VPN connection under Win2K SP2 the domain-suffix for this connection is set to 'myintranet.com'
When a remote user logs in, the settings are given correct to the Client.
Doing a ping to 'internalserver' or 'internalserver.myintranet.com' works well, even nslookup works fine.
But when trying to access a webapplication via Browser (http://internalserver/webapplication/) totally fails because of name resolution.
ASL sends:
[ QUOTE ]
The requestes URL could not be retrieved
Unable to determine IP adress from host name for internalserver
The dnsserver returned:
Name error: The doamin name does not exist.
This means that:
The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.
Check if the adress is correct.
[/ QUOTE ]
http://internalserver.myintranet.com/webapplication/ also fails.
When setting the HTTP proxy connection of IE6SP1 to relay.mydomain.com:80 it still won't work in no way
(using Transparent HTTP proxy).
Anybody any idea what i am missing ?!?
Who is asked first ??
DNS proxy from ASL, or the given DNS-server from the PPTP-Config ?!?
Thanks for any help.
Regards,
Karsten
