Antivirus and SPAM Deamons take 100% of CPU on V4

If the Antivirus and SPAM detection is on, the CPU usage of this deamons goes to 100% after a while.
I have to disable/enable the SMTP proxy (I suppose this restarts the deamons) to get the load back to normal limits.

there are a couple of errormessages in the smtp-log but none seems to be the direct cause

Normal CPU load is below 10% 
We have a 733Mhz PII, 512Mb RAM and lots of HD'space for 100 users, no VPN at this moment

    Maybe stupid sudgestion, but it is possble.

    Did you maybe check activity on SMTP port. With this I mean, how many connections are open, how big mails are and so on.

    I supose  you have No. of SMTP connections limited, but anyway.

    Hi Matjaz,
    Our mails are limited to 10MB. Mail rate is about 1 or 2 mails per minute.
    I have no Idea how or where to limit the number of connections.

    Hi Daniel!

    Out of data you provided I can see, that there should be no reason for such behavior of FW. 
    About connection limitations you can read in manuals (btw. limited to 25 conn. at once) and you can't change it in Webadmin.
