IDENT Proxy (maybe)

I'm seeing floods of:
"
xinetd[18266]: Bad line received from identity server at a.b.c.d
"
on a linux box.
This box is a mail server, and is accessed via IMAP from some machines behind ASL 3.216 (a.b.c.d).

Any thoughts?
