exim.conf / crontab

Hi everyone,

I modified my exim.conf, save the changes, but the file revert back to its original. Is there a "switch" that I should turn off temporarily to make the changes permanent? I thought I saw it somewhere but don't remember.

Same goes with the crontab file. I modify it to include a script I wrote but after awhile, the file went back to its original.

Any suggestions or comments are welcome.

you need to edit the files with endings like -default or -static which are used as templates for the real config files. after the change of the template you need to restart the according daemon.
