Slow EXIM response.

Lately my Astaro EXIM has been slow to respond to
SMTP (port 25) connections, which causes my email
clients to time out.

The connection happens basically immediately, but the "220 ESMTP ready." messsage takes about 20 seconds to show up.

The only recent firewall changes are some rules to DROP all global broadcasts... is there something I should ALLOW before I do this mass drop? Any other ideas?

Eraserhead,

sounds like exim tries to ident the accessing
client - which version do you use? We have changed
that behaviour!
