HELP!!! HTTP Proxy and Surf Protection Error Messages

Hi, I'm having a bit of trouble keeping the HTTP Proxy running.  I'm using ASL 3.12 with a Surf Protection License.

Since I installed the update I keep receiving these two error messages.

[INF 119] HTTP proxy not responding - restarted(1 times)
[WAR 060] Surf Protection remote database connection failure - retrying

System Uptime: 0 days 23 hours 8 minutes
System Load: 0.14
System Version: Astaro Security Linux  3.212
License: Office Version     

Please refer to the manual for detailed instructions.

After I installed the Up2Date 3.12 package I began to receive the errors.  So, in response I rebooted the box.  The errors have slowed down but not stopped.

I thought I had seen a full error list somewhere but I can't remember where it was that I saw it.
Does anyone know where that list is so that I can download or copy it.
I do have the latest copy of the ASL 3 manual.

    Sorry about the above.  I meant to say that my ASL Version is 3.212...

    Do not be (too) alarmed by these messages. 

    The [INF 119] means that the proxy did not respond fast enough to the test request from the selfmonitor.  If this error is not being massproduced you can safely ignore it     . 

    The other message means that the connect  attempt to the Url DB failed. The connect is retried and if it fails 3 times the SP  gives up and you are notified with a different message saying that SP is disabled for the next 1 hour and that only the URL cache will be used. Since you haven't mentioned that in your mail so I assume that it didn't happen to you. 

    So, to summerise: if you get these messages sporadically, all it means is that you could use a faster internet connection and they are purely of an informative nature.

    claus, can you check the file /var/chroot-squid/filter/cache.log if there is some indication why the proxy stops working.

    hello fjo + andy,

    already checked df -k plus /var/log/cache.log.........

    everything seems to work fine......

    df -k = the fullest disk is / with 36 % (looks good to me)

    /var/log/cache.log (nothing suspicious)

    can it be that the internet connection (dsl) is to slow for the http requests from the inside lan so that the surfprotection has not enough bandwith to connect its server? That was a friends idea but I``m not sure about it. Still thankful for any help

    My http proxy is doing that when surfprotection is on also. My users are getting cut off on every restart of the proxy, which happens every 2 minutes or 7mb, whichever comes first.

    Any ideas?

    Did any of you try to connect from the firewall to any of the SP servers? 
    The servers are listed in the file
    /var/chroot-squid/etc/filter.conf

    If a connect is not possible, then that could be the reason for the INF messages.

    Only 1 out of 3 ip's in filter.conf works. Are these IP's automatically updated, or should I manually update them?

    I don't have a cache.log file, probably because I've disabled the filter until I can test in the off hours.

    having the same problems like spatuality.....

    I don't have a cache.log file either........I`m tired of getting those mails...is it possible to make some settings in the filter.conf not to get the error mail so often.....

    I think you can disable the testing of the surf protection by touching the file

    /etc/no-superdaemon/surfprotection

    .....touched the file /etc/no-superdaemon/surfprotection but nothing changed the file surfprotection disappears after a short time .....any idea (still tired of all those mails :-(......anyways thank you for the reply.....
