change the proxy port

How do I change the proxy (squid) port? the standard setting is port 8080 but I want it changed into port 8000, I have already changed the squid.conf-default file en rebooted my server and then change the firewall rules to let port 8000 (UDP & TCP) through, but this doesn't work.
Is there another file to change or something like that?

    The error is let  through - You have to grant
    access to the internal interface IP,  on the firewall!
    The firewall itself has auto filters which allow
    access to the internet!   [;)]
