On a win2k AD server behind an ASL box, I get a lot of these errors in the win2k DNS log:
"DNS Server encountered invalid domain name in packet from . Packet is rejected."
The clients makes DNS lookups on the win2k server, which then forwards to the ASL which then again forwards to the ISP DNS.
Everything works correctly. Names are resolved fine and quickly, allthough the errors annoys me.
The Win2k AD domain name is the same as the companys registered FQDN (which I would not use if I did the setup) and the firewalls internet name is ASLname.company.com (this host has not yet been registered in public DNS, though). No illigal letters in the name.
Can this be the reason for the errors or should I look for another place for the answer?
Regards, Lars
