can not telnet ip address port 25

I have an firewall ASL 3.208 and attempts telnet port 25 to ip_smtp_public to internet, but no respond ?

What rules must aplicate ??
I have packet filter rules
any smtp ip_smtp_public allow

    adding a rule for port 25 isn't enough. There are no services listening to port 25 (not answering), so allowing access to it doesn't do anything.

    You've got two options:

    1. Set up a portforwarding to your internal mailserver.
    2. Activate the SMTP proxy server in ASL.

    Remember, you must have an internal SMTP server, ASL does not contain one!
