SMTP Virus

I am using ASL 3 with all latest updates. The SMTP Virus scanning is letting the eicar test file through. The file gets to my exchange server then Symantec finds it.

I have the DNS Proxy and SMTP Proxy configured

Any ideas

    are you sure, you are using the smtp-proxy?

    if the mailclient fetches the mail via pop3, the smtp-proxy doesn't deal with that.

    Make sure you are not sending the test email to the "postmaster" email address you have setup in the smtp proxy.

    Astaro does not scan for viruses for emails sent to this email address.

    I am using the SMTP proxy and have tried numerous accounts. I saw the posts on the admin account. My mail is hosted on an internal exchange server and has a DNAT rule to it via a sub interface on the WAN nic

    Wait so you have a DNAT rule to forward PORT 25 external to PORT 25 of your internal Mail server?

    This will bypass the SMTP Proxy.  You need to remove that DNAT and setup the Proxy to so it knows where the internal server is.
