DNS Proxy Question

I setup the DNS proxy for use with the internal LAN. On the packet filter rules, I don't have a rule that allows the internal LAN access to any DNS services or servers. The internal LAN can surf the web (http proxy), but I have DNS alerts in the packet filter logs. That makes sense since I didn't allow them in w/ a rule set.

Do I have to setup client machines to use the DNS proxy? Right now the MS boxes are configured to use the assigned DNS servers from my ISP.

    as long your clients are cfg for your ISPs DNS they will send requests to them. And these need to be maintained in the asl rules!
    if you setup the dns proxy you simply need to change your clients dns adds to the internal adds of your asl box! The asl box will forward all dns queries to your ISPs DNS.
    Preferably you should use DHCP...
