HTTP Proxy Usage Reporting problem

Dear All,

Can you please give me some help?
In "Reporting", "HTTP Proxy Usage" I get "no data available". This is odd as I have "Proxies", "HTTP" with user authentication. The authentication is "NT/2000/XP Server" and this works allwright. What can be wrong?

Thanks in advance,
DukeNukem

  • Hi Oliver,

Still no reports and the same message "no data available". Maybe you can guide me looking at the logs to see what can be wrong. Also I'm running version 3.207, I think the latest one.
I'm evaluating ASL for a few customers and this is an important feature.

    Thanks and Cheers,
    DukeNukem
  • Same issues for me, from 3.200 release to 3.207, unfortunately no solution! It'is probably a bad configuration, but which?

  • Hello again,

very strange, sure that you firewall isn't switched
    off during the night   [:S]

    If not, check  if /var/chroot-squid/logs/access.log
    exists and squid logs correctly.

    Run /usr/local/bin/log-rotate.sh manually and
see if there are any errors reported.
If not check if reporting data is now available!

Make sure that you use the latest version 3.207!

    read you

  • Hi Oliver,

After looking at squid access.log file it seemed OK, and after executing "/usr/local/bin/log-rotate.sh" it shows the following:

  • Dear All,

Some help would be highly appreciated as I'm evaluating ASL 3.208 for our customer's needs. Any more tips to sort this out?

    Thanks
    Cheers,

I have exactly the same problem  [:(]s???
  • Folder "fwlogwatch" was missing. Created it an ran /usr/local/bin/log-rotate.sh  [:)]

    Works now
  • Martin Eckeroth,

    folder fwlogwatch was missing???

I know only one script which touches this folder
and this isn't written to be accessed from a user.
What kind of box do you have - a preinstalled appliance?

  • Hi all,

I have the same problem. No reports about proxy usage. 'No data available' is displayed in webadmin. I have a full functional ASL box (up2dated), proxy is using user authentication through radius, full log level, anonymity=none. I've read several messages about this problem. I tried the manual log rotate command, causing the same error about the fwslog directory not found. I created it like one of the previous poster but it still does not work. Someone got a bright idea about this??

    Regards,
    Jan vd Lely

PS: squid is logging because I can look into the access.log files through the 'log files' section in webadmin
  • I have ASL 4.0 and it reports for http proxy non problem here
