[ERR 010] Please restart Pattern Up2Date

Can't start the Virus Scanner without the following files:

avp.set
-------------
This does not look to good.

Two days ago, I started to get this message after the automatic pattern update finished.
This means that I have to manually restart everyday the update function to get the antivirus working again.

Can somebody explain why this happens and how to avoid it?

    danielC,

    switch the pattern up2date to hourly!

    To be sure that the virus protection is running
    (It is or the proxy won't send e-mails)initiate
    the pattern up2date manually!

    We work on that!

    I had  the same problem just now! And it's on hourly update now.

    we experienced the same problem and for me it seemed to be a timeout problem for the system waiting for avp.set during restarting the internet connection.

    So I changed in the crontab the time for the daily update to a time short after my first daily lookup of the pop3-server and it works now fine for over a week.
    If it works for you, you have to make it static.

    Hello,

    O.K. it is fixed with the current up2date pacakges!

    The problem was related to the new feature
    timeserver support. Before all machines had
    different times, but since we can synchronize
    firewall's time at timeservers all firewalls 
    in a given timezone have an exact atomic time 
    and accessed our up2date server at exactly the
    same time, which was not so nice      

    Now we randomized the access time and the problem
    should be solved!

    I installed all updates but the problem is still there. 

    Can't start the Virus Scanner without the following files:

    daily.avc
    krnexe.avc
    krnengn.avc
    daily.avc
