Unable to send notification mails

astaro 3.2 is unable to send notification mails. The relay log shows the following:

We are not running our own DNS server so how does it know that it points to itself ? At our ISP our mail server address is set to the firewall, but on the firewall I've created a rule that forwards all mail to our internal server. 

Any ideas ?

    Franc v/d Westelaken,

    seems that the MX for wawo.nl points to the
    external interface of your firewall and you
    use DNAT to translate SMTP to another server
    behind ASL. Am I right? 
    If yes define your SMTP gateway and enable SMTP
    proxy and enter a SMTP route for your local 
    domaine: wawo.nl->internal_smtp_server
    After you saved your settings disbable the proxy
    again!

    Hi Oliver,

    indeed I've forwarded port 25 to our internal server and the MX at our ISP points to our external interface of the firewall. For now I've disabled the forwarding rule entirely and are using the SMTP proxy which forwards all mail to our internal server. This works well. One last thing. Why is in the logfile the hostname mentioned as: firewall.dmz.wawo.nl.dmz.wawo.nl where is should be, firewall.dmz.wawo.nl, is this a cosmetic thing ?
