ICQ file transfer / SOCK

I am running into some problems with ASL3.2: sockd has some problems:  ICQ and MSN messenger are setup for sock5 and can log on and send/receive message, but can't send/receive files.  I haven't had a chance to try other SOCKS clients.

When a user behind firewall tries to send a file with ICQ, it returns a message saying "can't connect to socks server.  incoming events will be blocked..."

with msn, file transfer get the error saying the "connection is blocked."

Does the firewall need to open some ports specifically for the socks to work? or I am doing something wrong?  Any help will be appreciated!

Have you tried to set up the sock proxy not to use authentication ?
Then check if file transfer works.

Same here!

And I don't use authentification...
Since the last Up2date to 3.201 the SOCKS-Proxy stopped working at all.

I have a dynamic assigned IP, is this a problem ?

I set the SOCKS server to not require authentication, but only allow local network access. Tried to change the clients to use either SOCKS5 or SOCKS4, but same results.

However, I did more tests (on ICQ), and turns out I am able to send & receive files with users not behind firewall or those IP sharing NAT devices. Is this a normal case, or should a client going through SOCKS not have problems even if the other end is behind NAT?

But I thought that a SOCKS-Proxy would solve that problem with sending files to other firewalled icq-users. If not, what do I need a SOCKS-Proxy for?

Another problem that occured is that the SOCKS-proxy stops working after some hours an cpu-load rises to 100%... (but only with ver 3.201) everything else is still working - so I think it must be the socks-proxy

Any hints ?

And I can't reboot my machine via web-interface... I have to use the console. What's up with ASL ???
