I would like to use the content filtering and virus protection(after purchasing it of course), but I would like to know how well they work before paying for it. Does anyone know how well content filtering works compared to a client side program like cybersitter? And for virus protection how well does that work and how often are the virus definitions updated? Thanks for any help
1. Antivirus is very good but only effective if you have your own email server, it only works on SMTP in/out email not pop3 or IMAP.
2. Content filter is from what I played with very effective. But not fantastically easy to modify. But that could just be the limitations I ran into in my brief testing.
I take it you are planning on registering Astaro for free home use? If so the Antivirus is available for personal use for 39 Euros. But the content filter isn't currently shown as an option at home user prices, you would have to pay the full price which I *think* is around 3-400 Euros at the cheapest level (10 IPs) but check with your salesperson.
