Antivirus email

My astaro Linux is installed. Everythink work, but surprise this morning : i receive a virus by email (w32...) nevertheless that Astaro antivirus email was enable !

Our server email is outside our network and we have just  ADSL to access to web and email

Someone can explain me what's wrong perhaps in our configuration ?

    Do you mean your email server is not behind the firewall?

    The virusscan for inbound email only works if astaro's email server is setup as the default MX record for the domain I believe. Then email for your domain is delivered to Astaro (not your mail server) first then forwarded on to your mail server and delivered to your clients.

    I am not sure but I think the virus scanner is not enabled in the beta. As I said, I am NOT sure...

    It is enabled in the beta.

    However, you have to have email routed on the internet to pass through the ASTARO gateway for it to scan incoming email.

    You do that by setting an MX record for your domain to send all email to ASTARO, it then sends it to your mail server. But you need some things to make it work.

    1. Control of your DNS and MX records
    2. A mail server that handles your domain email

    It doesn't scan incoming email if you are using pop3 clients behind the firewall to pickup email on a server outside the firewall.
