Multiple copies of e-mails sent

Qmail is still sending multiple copies of some e-mails.  To fix this, I have reinstalled the firewall version 2.023 on a completely different computer.  The only thing it has in common with the first is the configuration (loaded from a backup) and the version of the software.  On both machines, external e-mails are sometimes sent from 2 to over 10 times, and I get entries in the Qmail Livelog as below:

At first I thought it was a hardware fault so I replaced first the hard disk, and when that didn't work, the entire computer - network cards and all.
If anyone could shed some light on this I would really be most grateful.  It only started after I upgraded from 2.000 to 2.022, although I didn't notice it for a couple of weeks after that.  After installing from scratch on new hardware, this is the only thing I can think of that could be responsible, but if so surely someone else is having such problems?

I am using 20-40GB IDE drives on 2-3 year-old Intel-based hardware, so it's not as if I'm using anything too unusual.  One machine is a Dell XPS-T500, for example.

    Hi,
    Ive read this thread and must say my problem i currently have is identical.
    Has there been any solutions to this in 2002 ?
    The duplicate Emails on my qmail installation dont all have atachments, but the probem seems to only occur when exchange is using qmail as the smtp. So maybe indeed a qmail  exchange problem ?
