SOCKS5 and MSN Messenger

I just installed Astaro 2.022 and I having trouble with the SOCKS5 proxy, my users are unable to send files to other users outside our network both with and without the SOCKS5 proxy.

MSN Messenger is the newest version available, the odd thing is that I am not logging anything in /var/log/kernel or /var/log/daemon while trying to send files, SOCKS5 is running though, I can send messages through MSN and it logs when it connects with the MSN server, see here:

Anyone have a clue?

    I have been having a similar problem, probably related to the socks5 proxy, but directly related to Windows messenger.

    I have two users using the internal socks proxy for use with msn.

    The two users can communicate by text/voice ok internally, but when a user communicates with a user on the internet, text works, but voice doesn't, despite that the internal user has the conduit to the  socks5 server and connection to the msn server.

    Very odd..

    Do you think that this has any correlation to this?

    I have just descovered that it may not be possible for two way converstations to exist using socksified clients behind a firewall, this may apply to setting client apps using internal socks proxies, and therefore the return leg of the connection may not be allowed back in to your socks proxy (aka the asl box)

    If I work around this, I'll let you know.
