FTP via web browser

Hi,

I've struck some trouble with ftping through IE.
It works fine for sites that accept an anonymous ftp user, but dies when a site requires a login.
The same site works when not going through the asl box.

I haven't managed to find anything in the faq/docs, any ideas?

Setup:
The asl box isn't running a web proxy, there's an internal proxy server, although I strike the same problem when trying to connect directly through the asl box.
The internal hosts have rules to allow http/s and ftp/control traffic.
