Retrieving emails

Hello. I'm a beginner to linux and all, so I need help; here is my question:

I have setup asl and it is funcitonning well like a firewall and a proxy server, but my problem is with emails. I have a emails server with a external ip address and all my stations have internal address ip. What I want is to my stations to be able to retrieve and send emails to my emails server with a external ip address, but it is not funcitonning. I have put rules in packet filter any any any -> allow, I have enable smtp relay to any, etc... Hell! Everything is to "any" but I'm not able to retrieve and send my emails. I'm sure that my station configuration proxy is OK... I have no idea. Anyone can give to me step by step indications to resolve my problem. I don't want my emails forward to my firewall and again forward to an internal emails server. Thanks all!

    What you need to do is Masquerading.

    Follow these steps :
    1) Define your internal Network in the ASL Definitions.
    2) Under Network/Masquerading select your Internal Network --> External Interface.
    3) Packet filter rule :
    Internal Network --> Any --> Any --> Allow

    This should get you working.

    You must then be more granular on the packet filtering in order to be more secure. 

    * NOTE * If you are trying to reach a server with a name you must be able to resolve it, DNS proxy must be working.
