qmailscan filter virus auto-response config?

I've been evaluating the Astaro product, and my superiors have a strict requirement that the mail scanner doesn't send a message to the sender, or that I can at least reword the text that is sent. I attempted to edit the perl script, only to find out that it's been compiled into a binary form. I'm afraid to modify the text within this file for fear of upsetting the executable itself. 

Has anyone successfully replaced the included binary with the perl script version/distribution from SourceForge? Or is there a way to mofidy and recompile?

We've been using Anomy's Sanitizer prior to this, and I love the fact that Astaro includes a scanner that doesn't mangle attachment extensions by default. But I need to have the ability to configure or eliminate the responses it sends.

    Allow me to clarify:

    I need the ability to customize or eliminate the responses that qmail-scan-queue.pl generates. Normally, this is a perl script, but it appears the Astaro folks have compiled it to binary form. Can I edit the clear text within the binary and still expect it to execute?

    I recently subscribed to the virus scanning option, and then went looking for the ability to alter the responses, and the text added to the bottom of each email that passed through.

    I am very surprised that these features are not there. I also don't like the line added to the email header:

    Received: from foo@bar.com by gw2.blah.net with qmail-scanner- http://www.astaro.com  (Version 3.0build 135|Known records: 52775. . Clean.); 20/03/2002 07:28:47

    Which tells recipients what firewall I am running.

    I would like to see:
    • User configurable virus detected response emails.
    •  User configurable footer appended to emails, including ability to add last update date/time, no. of known records.
    •  Removal (or option) of astaro url from smtp program to stop its addition to the email headers.

    The best way would be via the webadmin interface, but I would still be happy if they were configurable via text files.
