Cable modem and connectivity problems

I seem to have a problem with proxying any kind of information through the astaro box. Here is my configuration and I will explain the scenario...

2 3com 3c509 network cards

1st card: 192.168.30.1
2nd card: 24.4.213.90 (this is not my real address, just an example for analysis sake)

Gateway: 24.4.213.90
Router at @home is 24.4.213.1 (next hop)

I can ping 192.168.30.1 and 24.4.213.90 from the astaro box. I cannot ping 24.4.213.1 from the astaro box.

However, I do receive email alerts to my @home account. 

Proxy is setup like so:

http proxy is on and transparent
DNS proxy is on and DNS is set to 24.4.212.12 and 24.4.212.14

Client config is as such

client ip address is 192.168.30.2
DNS is set to 192.168.30.1
IE is set to 192.168.30.1:8080

Results: I get cannot resolve DNS. This is a squid message.

Any clues on why I cannot proxy to the Astaro box or on what i need to do to configure it properly would be very helpful. Thanks
