Use of RBL?

I'm just a bit curious... I was looking into implemeniting rblsmtpd for lookup in the mail-abuse databases, when I found that rblsmtpd is already setup on my ASL 2.0 (latest patchlevel).

Is this already configured?? There is no mention of it in the manual, and just a couple references on the forums.

Good question if so I can finnaly kill some serious spam. Spam killing is fine by me.

I did a little looky-looky inside ASL and found the config file for qmail in /sbin/init.d/qmail

In the section where qmail starts, I find this line:

Can I change this to

..provided 199.199.199.199 is the mail-abuse.org RBL ip-address?

I saw something mentioned at the rblsmtpd site that relays.mail-abuse.org stopped working, as all TXT records were removed. Does this mean that this implementation of rblsmtpd cannot work with mail-abuse.org?

I intend to use the RBL+ list (RSS, RBL & DUL) - is this problem-free?

yes, mail-abuse.org stopped there free service....

but there is a other good database for anti-spam:
http://www.ordb.org

(they offer also information how about integrating there database in rblsmtpd or dnsbl)

lop, I will look at ordb.org, but for personal users the mail-abuse.org services are still free.

Will ASL work with the current mail-abuse.org RBL+ database though?

Keep in mind, that many ASL customers may want it to work with the pay-rbl's.
