Serious SMTP Proxy BUG/Flaw

Hi Guys. Theres a situation with the smtp proxy and Astaro's notification system.

Our users collect their email from individual POP3 boxes at the headoffice in Germany, say carl@ourcompany.co.uk

So everybodies email addresses are remote POP3 boxes. Astaro is replying with Delay Notifications as "notify@firewall.ourcompany.co.uk", but the MX for ourcompany.co.uk says "Sender domain must exist". (because firewall.ourcompany.co.uk is not a valid domain).

I tried to get around this by (a) setting ASL hostname to localhost (the MX accepts this, but ASL says its invalid), (b) setting ASL hostname to just ourcompany.co.uk, but then all email addressed to collegeues goes into the local qmail-system instead of over to germany.

I think there needs to be a Hostname & Domain-name config option. Or at least "e-mail domain to use for notifications, etc", to solve the problem.

This really is quite important. Do you understand what I'm trying to say ?

    One of the next betas will have this. A lot will change in the SMTP proxy anyway  [:)]

    I will think about backporting this into 2.0x too.

    just wanted to bring this one up again. Is there a quick-fix I can implement in one of qmails control files ? I'm getting lots and lots of failures where Astaro is trying to send delay notifications to users, but the responsible mail server is not allowing them though because astaros hostname has no valid MX record in Internet DNS.
