HTTP proxy and transparent disable bug

I am running ASL 1.930 and there seem to be a bug in HTTP proxy and transparent mode being disabled.  When transparent mode is disable, I must have proxy settings in my browser in order for me to access the internet, but my browser does NOT have any proxy settings enable and I still able to access the internet.

Is this a bug ???

    I am experiencing the same behavior. With HTTP or SMTP proxies enabled my clients can still browse without proxy settings.

    Hopefully Astaro guys will get back to us. They are usually very good about it.

    well, if you have a packet filter rule that matches port 80 TCP outgoing then people can surf till the cows come home.

    If you packet filter rule set is empty AND transparent mode is switched off AND your clients can still browse .. then there is either a bug, or your clients somehow route around the firewall (correct default gw ?).

    You mean there should be rules:
    LOCAL_LAN  HTTP ANY  DROP/DENY
    LOCAL_LAN  ANY  ANY  ALLOW 
    Is that what you saying?

    How about port 8080. I assume I need a rule
    LOCAL_LAN  8080  ANY  ALLOW
    Is this correct?

    Without having option for specifing INTERFACE when creating rules in WebAdmin, it is pretty confusing. Are there any plans to include INTERFACE as an option into WebAdmin rule creator?
