Email Protection corrupts incoming SMIME Mails

Hello,

we are using Sophos UTM 9.1 as an virtual Appliance.

I have the following scenario:

Incoming mails->NoSpamProxy->UTM->Exchange2010

In this scenario when a user gets an smime encrypted Email it is shown in Outlook (2010) as an normal (Text)Email with attachment, but the attachment is invisible.

When i change the routing, so the NoSpamProxy delivers directly to the Exchange, the mails are shown properly and the attachment is visible.

Also when i configure an exception for the sender address under EmailProtection->SMTP->Exceptions and set to skip "footer additions" checks the incoming mails will be fine.

is there something i am configuring wrong?

  • I have tested around a bit and found out, that when i attach a simple .txt file into an encrypted mail it works just fine.

    when there is a .pdf file in the attachment the encrypted mail wont be forwarded properly an i have to exclude the footer additions check in the exceptions. then it will work.....

    any suggestions?
  • What happens if you take the NoSpamProxy out?

    Cheers - Bob
