Setting up Sophos UTM for home use.

astaro home
no exchange server

using isp pop3 & smtp service to send and receive email,

I disabled all the default smtp and pop3 firewall rules  and enable smtp and pop3 the pop3 works i can receive emails but i cannot send email.

  • Would need to know what the ISP is so could look up the settings you could try. That would be a start also could try to use the smart relay and enter your email address username and password.

And welcome to the SOPHOS FORMS [:)]
  • ISP is AT&T U-verse

would like to set up Smtp proxy to send scan and Encryption outgoing mail

Try to follow Sticky: [HOW TO] Email Encryption using External Mail Server
    wingman   with no luck.
  • Wingman's prescription assumes that you have your own domain that you control.  Is SMTP traffic allowed for your home connection?  What mail client are you using?
