SMTP cannot send mail

Setting up Sophos UTM for home use.

no exchange server

using isp pop3 & smtp service to send and receive email,
But I was wondering if its possible to setup the smtp server on Sophos UTM home SMTP server to Encryption and send out mail. how would I go about doing it.

I disabled all the default smtp and pop3 firewall rules and enable smtp and pop3 the pop3 works i can receive emails but i cannot send email.

Would need to know what the ISP is so could look up the settings you could try. That would be a start also could try to use the smart relay and enter your email address username and password.

ISP is AT&T U-verse

would like to set up Smtp proxy to send scan and Encryption outgoing mail

Wingman's prescription assumes that you have your own domain that you control. Is SMTP traffic allowed for your home connection? What mail client are you using?
