ASG-220 V8.302 POP3-Connector failed to read message from cache

When skipping POP3 transparent mode (brute! :-) everything works fine,
all mails from all accounts are being downloaded.

Error message when trying to connect directly to the mail-host (with an Outlook EMail-Account): "-ERR Proxy Failed to read message from cache"

Thanks for the links. I know them, I already looked at before. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be the same problem. Even after downloading / deleting all mail from the external mail-host the system dosen't want to work. Still same errors. And it was also no "long-header" mail, or any kind of scrambled-header, foreign-header or any kind like this. 
A reboot (2 or 3 times for the past 8 hours) of the ASGs didn't help.


The POP3-Live-Log just says:

 2012:04:17-09:36:51 Firewall-1 pop3proxy[17909]: service.DOMAIN.XY (account 7)
 2012:04:17-09:36:51 Firewall-1 pop3proxy[17909]: RPC-Getmail failed. Cluster-ID 1 Ident 20996-1-1333449439
 2012:04:17-09:36:51 Firewall-1 pop3proxy[17909]: Client 10.0.10.1 logged out (account=7, deleted=0)

(10.0.10.1 = Exchange-Server/SBS)


In the servers eventlog there's this message:

Fehler (0x800CCC90) beim Ausführen der Aufgabe 
"mail.DOMAIN.XY - Nachrichten werden empfangen": 
"Ihr Posteingangsserver (POP3) hat einen internen Fehler gemeldet. Wenn Sie diese Meldung weiterhin erhalten, wenden Sie sich an Ihren Serveradministrator oder Internetdienstanbieter. Antwort des Servers: -ERR Proxy: Failed to read message from cache"

(...sorry, german-speaking server [:)]


Just downloaded the mails *without* the POP3-Proxy, this works fine.

Clyde, for what I have understood reading the post I reported before, even if you downloaded the email from the server without pop3 proxy, you haven't deleted the record from the table. 

"The message is stored in the database (table messages) but not in the spool directory (/var/chroot-pop3/var/spool/0). After deleting the message from the table everything is fine again and we can fetch our mail."

Did you check the content of this table?

I'm not realy sure about this table. 
Where do I find it? WebAdmin? Think, I need some help here [:)]

btw:
There is nothing unusual in the UserPortal, or in the mail-manager tables, SMTP works fine for both of the accounts.

And I just rebooted the server (SBS, Exchange), still the same problem :'(

And I can't understand, why only these 2 account are corrupted,
the other accounts are setup exactly the same?

me again with some additional information:

I just build up a "bypass" on the external mail-host, forwarding the incomming mails to another email-account (sales2@....) on the same host and getting these mails with the POP3-Connector, putting them in the (correct) internal account (sales@...).

This works fine. For the moment.
(same procedure with service@....)

It seems, that our Firewall has realy a problem with the
EMail-Account sales@.... ? What went wrong?

Clyde, I think that it confirms that there is something "dirty" in the database table. Unfortunately I cannot assist you in this phages, you should ask to CST, he solved this issue.

As I didn't get an answer from CST until now, I tried some different things (while I was forwarding the emails to another account).

The only thing that finally helped was to delete the (external) email-account and re-create it again. Since then everything is fine - so far...

weird - but it works
