Whitelisting not working in 8.203?

So my wife is on a mailing list.  The emails are from "Improvements Catalog" .  She complains that 'release&whitelist' doesn't keep subsequent ones from being quarantined.  I have added the above sender to the explicit global whitelist, with and without '*' at the front (not sure if the '*' is needed for pattern matching), and it doesn't help - still getting quarantined?

    Bob, thanks (and not meaning to be ungrateful here), but my issue is not why the mail is being quarantined (for what it's worth, it says 'spam'), but why the whitelisting is not working.  As I said in an earlier post, ASG seems to be using the Return-Path (I may have gotten that wrong, it may be Reply-To?) instead of From.  The basic problem seems to be that whatever address is being used for the whitelisting is not whatever the whitelisting rule in the antispam filter is using, so the whitelisting has no effect (at least for mails where From and Reply-To are different which seems to frequently be the case.)
