Whitelisting not working in 8.203?

So my wife is on a mailing list.  The emails are from "Improvements Catalog" .  She complains that 'release&whitelist' doesn't keep subsequent ones from being quarantined.  I have added the above sender to the explicit global whitelist, with and without '*' at the front (not sure if the '*' is needed for pattern matching), and it doesn't help - still getting quarantined?

    Sometimes, those mailing services have a different sender address for every email campaign, so you have to look at several to see what should be whitelisted.

    Then again, have you checked the SMTP Log to confirm why the emails are being quarantined?
