Unable to send mails from website

Hi,

Our website is unable to use the SMTP proxy on Astaro 8.201, When it tries to send mail, we get an error. The log of SMTP log of ASL reports:

2011:09:19-17:12:28 firewall exim-in[23755]: 2011-09-19 17:12:28 rejected EHLO from [ip address]:16568: syntactically invalid argument(s): (no argument given)
2011:09:19-17:12:28 firewall exim-in[23755]: 2011-09-19 17:12:28 SMTP connection from [ip address]:16568 closed by QUIT
2011:09:19-17:12:28 firewall exim-in[7756]: 2011-09-19 17:12:28 SMTP connection from [ip address]:16569 (TCP/IP connection count = 1)
2011:09:19-17:12:29 firewall exim-in[23756]: 2011-09-19 17:12:29 rejected EHLO from [ip address]:16569: syntactically invalid argument(s): (no argument given)
2011:09:19-17:12:29 firewall exim-in[23756]: 2011-09-19 17:12:29 SMTP connection from [ip address]:16569 closed by QUIT

Is there a way to determine what is wrong? 'No argument given' is not quite informative.

    Hi Scott, Bob,

    Yes, rDNS exists and the server is also listed as allowed to relay. On that same server a .net page runs which can send mail through ASL fine. Only our CMS is unable to send using ASL. When I point our CMS to a Windows SMTP server, it can send the mail fine. So there must be something ASL doesn't like when the CMS is talking to it to send mail. But how do I figure out what that is?
