[8.201][MAIL]Daily Executive reports failed

My ASG has been up for over 15 days and has remained connected to the same IP address for nearly as long.

I found a number of entries in the system log that are strange (or at least to me they are) while investigating the mail failure.

There is a similar EOF message later on during the day.

Any ideas on what the cause of the EOF and the daily reports failing might be?

    Where do you have 192.168.10.1 configured as the mail server in WebAdmin in ip address format?  Under Management>>Notifications?  And/or do you have a host definition with the ip address set as the hostname?

    Hi Scott,
    I don't or didn't. After your question I have investigated the settings in the various tabs and found that the firewall internal address has become the mail server in the smtp proxy. I have no idea why this changed, but it is not something I did deliberately.

    I will reset it shortly to the correct value.

    Hi Scott,
    that didn't fix the problem, but a more detailed investigation based on your pointer shows that something changed all references to the firewall to its internal address rather than the FQN.

    I have changed the address back to the FQN and regenerated the certificates. Last check showed postfix wasn't running, now only time will tell.

    Time didn't work, now postfix has a fatal error and is not running.

    Restarted ASG to see if it will reload all the corrected parameters.

    More updates.

    After a restart the mail notification is working again.
