Verify recipients in Active Directory

Hi,

I have setup my SMTP proxy server to "verify recipients with callout" and everything is fine.

But a customer asks me to setup a reply for non-user message i.e. ***x@domain.com

I have setup to "Verify recipients in Active Directory" and it is working BUT it doesn't support additional SMTP adress of the users...

One user is john@domain.com and has an additionnal adress like support@domain.com

The message will be rejected because "support@domain.com" is not an AD account... You see what I mean ?

May I have forgotten something ?

    Maybe a workaround:
    Can you ad the additional adress in the astaro user account definition, after the account has been fetched / snyced from the AD backend?

    Have you tried 'Verify recipients' "With callout" instead of "In Active Directory" ?

    But, I'm confused.  Does your customer want the Astaro to accept mail for non-existent mail boxes?  That won't work, and I don't think it should.

    Above he mentioned additional address. So this additional adress is using an existing mailbox. If i understood correctly, the main adress is recognized, bute the additional adress of the same user not.

    If the user is synched with the backend you can add an additional address but with the next sync this additional address will be deleted.

    tomtomtom is right, I think - Sync will delete any information added to the local user synced from AD.  Still, I'd be curious if the experiment would work before the next sync.  I guess that it won't, but I don't know that.

    Using AD+Exchange with Astaro, "With Callout" accepts any valid additional SMTP addresses added to the user in AD.  That's why I asked if you had tried "With Callout".

    Sorry for my late reply...

    When I use "Verify with callout" it doesn't work well.

    When an user sends a message to bad_adress@domain.com He won't receive a reply of "unknown user", you see what I mean ? The message will be delivered even if it doesn't exist in the organisation.

    So he can think that his message has been delivered... Not good ! (if he has misspelled the name)
