Does anyone know how often does the recipient verification cache clears? I fixed a typo in an email address and it's still rejecting it before it hits my exchange server.
I'm actually having this problem today. I just switched our email over from our internal anti-spam system to Astaro, and I'm getting odd receipt verification issues on some domains.
I think I read somewhere that if the recipient server is unavailable, that the mail is accepted. Is that the case? I hope so :-)

I've had to turn off recipient verification at this point, because randomly users who do exist just get marked as nonexistent, and it's causing tremendous problems with mail bouncing!
