Hello Freinds !

i am using asg 8.1 on vmware my mail server is windows based(also on vmware ) , the ip is provided by my isp is blacklisted by trend micro reputation that's why i am using smart host for send mail using gmail account but many times i am not able to send mail with some attachment in that case is it possible with asg mail system that mail should go with some other route or direct (without using smart host )

or if i decided to bypass smart host for now mail will go directly but when it was block by trend micro it should use smart host or some other way

    Does your ISP give you an email address? If so, use that as your smarthost and not google. You won't be able to do what you are trying unless you had some fancy scripts running on the mail server to sort mails depending on attachments. So astaro can't do that out of the box.

    Use your ISP as smarthost and it will work. Gmail used to work fine but now all the mails would be tagged with your name if you use it as a smarthost. I am not sure why are your attachments disappearing, they should reach the destination if the mail gets there.

    i contact my isp for same reason about 5 months back still i have problem 

    2)when i use my isp's email address as a smrth host i am getting this error

    edited ::5xx is a hard fail and 4xx is soft fail ?????

    plesae correct me if i am wrong hard fail is mail server/system will not try to send mail again but softfail it will try to send same mail again  ?

    Yes, your IP is blacklisted and the mail won't work without the smarthost. I know why you are using it, I am just saying that if your ISP has a mail server, use that for mail relay instead of gmail.

    550 is relaying not allowed. Ask them for correct username and password for smtp. Most ISPs give you pop3 for incoming mail and smtp for outgoing. The outgoing requires authentication in most cases but not always, that is the password that you will use in your smarthost settings. Just double check with your ISP.
