Incomming mails waits in Smtp Spool with "Error" state

Hi,

About four days incoming mails got stuck in smtp spool with "Error" state. I manually try the "retry" option but they still wait in spool with Error status. There is this hint in Mail Manager tips: "Messages in 'error' state are being held because of system malfunction. If they stay in error state 15 minutes after a retry, please contact your vendor for assistance."

I contacted  with the local support service, didn't get a reply yet. So I ask here if any of you has a suggestion.

Edit: just dig smtp logs and it seems this is the culprit: "smtpd[9984]: MASTER[9984]: 1PTwpD-0005JE-0c Scanner crash - moving to error queue"

Edit: Disabling all AV/Malware scanning  options didn't worked. Spooled messages are still fail with scanner crashed error. I saw the pre v8.0 bug reports that mentions same issue. But it seems they are fixed. I am on v8.003.

    Best thing that I can suggest is to try rebooting your Astaro box and see if the problem clears up.


    Thanks for the reply. I did, a few times. Via web interface, via directly cutting power. Neither worked. I tried to restart smtpd via ssh console, no success.


    A few hours ago, with despair, I tried 8.100 update. It fixed the problem. But I don't think the update has anything to do with the Scanner Crash problem. Most likely it triggered some self healing. I wish if it was not urgent, and I can find the reason of the crush.

    The last  week was a nightmare with astaro. First for three days Http proxy killed web surfing experience as the pages were barely opening, 10-15 seconds for simple pages, some complex pages timeout. Then this mail issue. I think I will install it from strach when 8.100 cd image is released.
