[7.507] More spam than usual getting through?

Is anyone else having this trouble? For the past week, a lot more spam than usual seems to be getting through to our users. For example, some users who were receiving four or five spam emails a day are suddenly seeing fifty to a hundred a day.

Looking at the SMTP log in Mail Manager, I can see lots of emails being blocked with Rejected: RBL and Rejected: RDNS/HELO, and even some with Rejected: Spam (but not as many as normal, I suspect).

I'm trying to work out whether someone has recently discovered a new way of getting round the spam filter, or whether there's a problem with my Astaro box. So, is anyone else seeing this problem?

  • I don't think an Avira update should affect spam.  It would be interesting to know what the SMTP log says about one of the spams that usually is blocked.

  • I'd start a support case with Astaro; it sounds like you have a commercial license.  I haven't seen this issue at any of my managed clients, and none of the others have called me (they normally do if there's an issue).

  • i have the same problem but with 8.002 - we have a lot of spam since 1-2 weeks. the spam is coming trought our backup-mx and is forwarded without any detection. rbl is working fine but of course it does not affect if the mail is coming from our backup-mx.

    i already startet a support case to astaro and they are trying to find the problem....
