[8.002] Unable to Receive Emails - Port 587

We changed the SMTP proxy in 8.002 to no longer accept unauthenticated messages on port 587(as is required by RFC 4409). Perhaps this is your problem?

If not, could you describe your setup a bit more(do you have a mail server behind the asg, do you use the smtp proxy, etc..), and post the relevant log lines? Perhaps someone with a better understanding of the whole mail stuff will be able to you.

You are correct about turning off port 587 and not being able to receive email. I do have a mail server behind the firewall. The firewall is for home use and my ISP will not allow SMTP (port 25) to pass through to reduce spammers. Is there another port number that can be used instead of port 25 or a configuration setting that can be used as a work around? Would it be possible to create a firewall rule to allow port 587 on the external interface that will allow email messages to pass on to the email relay server built into Astaro?

I had to reinstall Astaro 8.001 to receive emails on port 587. I am hoping there is another port that can be used instead of port 587 and will also be compatible with one of the ports used by my hosted mail relay server. Possible feature change would be the ability to change port numbers for receiving emails on the Astaro box.
