V8 RBLs

Thanks for your post #9 above.  That's interesting - I just assumed that this was a new way of reporting greylisting in V8.  The action appears to be identical to greylisting, but now I don't understand what the lines in Post #7 mean.  I wonder if this is a new feature in V8 as I don't see any black.rbl.* or grey.rbl.* entries in the last 18 months of SMTP logfiles on our Astaro.

I think the Commtouch IP reputation check occurs before the RBL checks, and that depends on the setting in 'Spam detection during SMTP transaction' 'Reject at SMTP Time'.  If there's a way in V8 to have the Astaro greylist based on a Commtouch risk setting, that's definitely new behavior.

Yes, I believe this is new in V8, as they have switched from the old RBLs to Commtouch.

Actually, I believe this is the RBL test.  These Commtouch checks occur even though I have "Reject spam at SMTP time" turned off, but they go away if I uncheck the "Use recommended RBLs" box.  That said, I have yet to find where the actual spam reputation checks are logged in V8.

Not trying to nitpick, but I think we're both coming to grips with some of the changes introduced in V8. [:)]

I have been busy with other stuff lately so haven't checked but during the beta I had a big problem with greylisted hotmail account mails. Probably wouldn't have noticed but then the same mails were counted under the top spam senders also after they were accepted which should not be the case. 

I am all for spam fighting but I like to be involved in the fighting just in case the spam is not really spam but in this case, there is no way of stopping greylisting short of disabling astaro recommended rbls. Maybe its fixed in 8.001, I am not sure but there were still some wrinkles that need ironing in v8 GA.

OK, I'm ready to believe that this is a new feature in V8, but I can't find any setting related to this.  Is this simply Astaro trying greylisting when the reputation isn't "cofirmed spam" but not "OK"?
